  Fall Feriado in Portugal

September 30 – October 6

Escape with me this fall to the beautiful Minho region of northern Portugal. Experience serenity practicing your yoga every morning (maybe beside a pool or in a meadow), taking in the land of lush greenery and abundant vineyards, savouring amazing food and wine, and discovering architecture unique to this up-and-coming vacation hot spot.

Home Base

Quinta da Bouça d’Arques, the 300-year old luxuriously-renovated family farm of Ana and João Couto, is our base. We’ll practice meditation and yoga, relax and renew, sleep and eat well here. There are separate guest houses that feature ample living space, beautiful tile decoration, comfy beds, deep baths and lush towels, and terraces. Just what you need for a little alone time. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Spaces are limited in this boutique hotel, so scroll down to reserve your spot.

The city you will be flying into is Porto, which is 50 minutes from the Quinta in the Viana do Castelo region in the province of Minho. Transfers to and from the airport are part of your vacation.

Live, Learn & Experience

Practicing yoga and meditation somewhere different is a wonderful way to discover new things about your mind, body and soul. I will guide you every day through various forms of meditation, extended hatha and vinyasa yoga in the morning and restorative yoga some afternoons. But our exploration won’t stop on the mat. No, it won’t. We’re going to get out and discover Portuguese people, architecture, scenery, food and drink. In addition to advancing our yoga and meditation practices, we’re going to enhance our “emotional agility, empathy, and creativity” by exploring this beautiful part of the world.

Q & A

Will I need to arrange for my own travel to Portugal?

Yes, but I suggest using the services of Angela Coupe. She’s the agent who has put this holiday together for us. Contact her here:

You can also purchase your travel insurance through her. If you think you don’t need it, think again. Last year, one of our students broke his ankle two weeks after paying his deposit. Anything can happen. Be secure.

Will I need a passport?

Yes, you will need a passport.

I am planning on coming alone, but I’d rather not pay for single occupancy – can you find me a roommate?

Yes, sure, I can try to match you up with someone. Pay your deposit for a double occupancy and I will do what I can.

Will the hosts deal with my dietary restrictions?

Yes, so please send me information about any allergies, restrictions, or requests.

Can I expect to make life-long memories on this trip?

Without a doubt.
