The Autumnal Equinox is considered the first day of Fall, when we experience equal parts daylight and darkness. It is a good time to appreciate equilibrium inside and outside ourselves. We can turn inward to consider how we’ll harvest and use our inner bounty and we can look outward to consider the beauty we have around us as mother nature expresses her deepening colours and ripening seeds.
Yin Yang Yoga balances the practice of the yin & yang styles of Yoga. Yang Yoga is the more traditional hatha based asana (postures) practice that energizes the body and develops muscle strength, balance and flexibility. During this part of the class, we will flow slowly through a sequence of poses that range from easy to slightly challenging. Yin Yoga is the more passive based practice with a series of long-held floor postures that access the deep connective tissue in the body and provide time to integrate body, breath and mind. This class is slow and smooth but also challenging.
